Up for auction is an antique Royal typewriter (circa 1941-49).
This typewriter is in need of some repair. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate it around an 5-6. It appears as though it needs several very small light springs on several keys underneath. It is old and dusty, and is need of a major cleaning. It has been stored for a long time, and the springs have just worn through (or the springs rusted). This would be perfect to restore, and in mint restored condition these can run near $8-900.00.
This would be a perfect project, for someone who is into repairing or restoring quality vintage typewriters.
By the late 1930s, Royal had overtaken the Underwood to become the
world's No. 1 Typewriter manufacturer. The 1941 model, also known as
KMM (I'm not sure if it is a 1941 KMM, or a 1949 KMG), sports a rugged crackle paint finish popular for the period. It
offers many sophisticated features that are unavailable to portable
machines, such as automatic tab setting and clear as well as keyboard
tension adjustment. Because of its heavy duty construction, Royal desk
models were preferred by business professionals, journalists and
schools at the time.

Bidding starts low on this item, and the reserve is well below what the typewriter is worth.
This is an AS-IS auction, and the typewriter is in need of repair.
Again, I am not certain of the exact year and make of this typewriter, but to the best of my knowledge, it is circa 1941-1949, and may be a KMM, or a KMG model.
